Over the course of the Community Day on Saturday the 28th June 2025 we will have a selection of guest presentations taking place for attendees to drop into as they explore the expo. These sessions have a limited capacity, so make sure to arrive to the session you would like to attend at least 5 minutes prior to its start time.

Our world is changing faster now than it ever has before. With globalised teams, mass technology adoption, and shifting trends, it's easy to be overwhelmed and feeling uncertain about what our future might entail. In this presentation, we will unpack some of the trends we're noticing in the workforce of the future and the exciting opportunities available for young people making a start on their chosen pathway today. ​

Resume Tips And Tricks

Saturday 28th June | 12:00 - 12:30pm

This workshop has been created for participants who want to learn what a ‘Winning Resume’ looks like. A great resume should be achievement focused and effective enough to get you onto the short-list. Upon attending the workshop participants will:

- Gain the relevant skills to create an effective resume

- Understand what to include and what to leave out

- Find out what future employers  expect to see

- Learn ‘Tips & Tricks’ to make a resume stand out

- Understand which templates to use 

- Establish essential elements to entice the Hiring Manager to invite you for that crucial job interview!

Join The Aviation Industry: Opportunities For All 

Saturday 28th June | 9:30 - 10:00am

Anything you want to do as a career can be done in the aviation industry! Want to be a chef, a nurse, a vet, work in customer service, a mechanic, sky dive, photographer, accountant, marketing...then do these things in the aviation industry? How about fly a drone, build a drone, fly a helicopter, be an airline pilot, a cabin attendant!! The Sky Careers presentation will talk about the wide choice of opportunities in the industry and how to make a start.

Careers In The Australian Defence Force

Saturday 28th June | 10:30 - 11:00am

BDR (Bombadier) Cara Miles is an Artillery Command Systems Operator who has been in the Australian Army for 7 years. Outside of work I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family. Cara is here today to talk about the various pathways and opportunities with the Australian Defence Force.

WA Police Force - Join The Team!

Saturday 28th June | 11:30 - 12:00pm

Laurie Ware is currently a Senior Constable with the WA Police Force. Who joined the force in 1995 and is nearing 30 years of service. His employment with WA Police has seen him undertake many different roles and travel to various locations throughout WA.

The Power Of Young Entrepreneurs

Saturday 28th June | 12:30 - 1:00pm

As a Grade 9 student, Scott never thought that a high school business project might one day turn into a leading Australian education company. In this presentation, Scott will share his story from selling keyrings at local markets to travelling around the world working with CEOs and politicians. Scott will be sharing his experience taking an alternative career pathway and sharing some of his top tips for stepping outside of your comfort zones and making the most of our ever-changing future of work.
